The STEM Council and Iowa Authentic Learning Network are partnering to offer a network for work-based learning.

The STEM Advisory Council and Iowa Authentic Learning Network will be partnering to provide monthly Digital Network Parties to bring together preschool through grade 12 educators and practitioners of career-linked learning experiences. These networking opportunities will feature innovative and authentic learning models that showcase resources, crush impediments and embrace an agile mindset.

“Collaborating with the Iowa Authentic Learning Network is a win-win for everyone involved,” stated STEM Council Project Coordinator Tanya Hunt. “The ALN are the practitioners and learning support network for those educators who want to integrate authentic learning in the classroom. This meshes well with opportunities that we are trying to create with the STEM BEST Program and the STEM Teacher Externships Program.”

Each month during the academic year, the Digital Network Parties will feature educators and students who will share about their innovative models of learning that translates to the workplace.

“We are excited to partner in order to bring more authentic and STEM related opportunities to our schools across Iowa,” Laura Williams, Great Prairie Area Education Agency (AEA) 21st Century Learning Specialist and Project Manager for AEA Learning Online.
